Waukesha Cherry-Burrell SPX Process Equipment for the Food Industry
SPX is a major supplier of process equipment, including Waukesha Cherry Burrell positive displacement and centrifugal pumps, dispersion equipment, single and double-seated valves, fittings and heat exchangers. The company and its network of distributors are dedicated to raising productivity, product quality and profitability for their equipment and systems customers. From this dedication has come advancements in equipment development and applications; advancements that have changed the way food process designers solve problems.
Positive displacement pumps
For more than half a century, SPX’s Waukesha Cherry-Burrell brand has been a leader in the design, manufacture and application of external circumferential, piston (ECP) style, rotary positive displacement (PD) pumps. Waukesha Cherry-Burrell PD pumps are in service around the world in food, dairy, canning, bakery, beverage and pharmaceutical processing, as well as challenging chemical and industrial applications.
Users of Waukesha Cherry-Burrell PD pumps benefit from decades of continuing product improvement. Steady advances in design, metallurgy and fabrication techniques have yielded progressively higher levels of performance and service life. The Universal II Series is the latest expression of this tradition. They combine three-way mounting versatility introduced by the Universal I with new features that extend pump life and improve sanitary performance. This pump is available in clean-in-place (CIPable) configurations.
Designed for heavy-duty, high-efficiency applications, the Waukesha Cherry-Burrell 200 Series centrifugal pump provides exceptional corrosion resistance. The impeller and shaft are one piece, which connects directly to the motor shaft, eliminating such problems as vibration, short bearing life, high NPSH requirements, high seal maintenance, poor alignment and adverse operating conditions. Available models include aseptic, multistage, self priming (liquid ring), all machined wet end, high pressure and metric sizes.
Waukesha Cherry-Burrell’s modular valves are the ultimate in easy cleaning, high pressure, and low maintenance design. Our single-seat valves are commonly used for flow diversion, throttling, or shut-off. The W70 offers an economical solution to a wide variety of mix-proof processing applications. Flow of two different media through the same valve simultaneously, without the potential for mixing, provides increased operating efficiencies and cost savings.
Scraped surface heat exchangers
For more than 60 years, Votator scraped surface heat exchangers have been replacing slow, inefficient batching operations with more uniform, controllable and repeatable continuous processing. The Votator II incorporates the most popular features of the Thermutator and Votator lines, making it extremely easy to maintain.
The Votator II and the Extra Heavy Duty Votator II replace the Thermutator and standard Votator units, and are also available as vertical units.
Typical applications are heating and cooling cheese sauce, pudding, caramel, deboned meat, pet food and fruit products.
