Huhnseal Hygienic Mechanical Seals and O-Rings for Agitators, Mixers and Pumps

Huhnseal AB was founded in 1983, and has grown to become a market leader in mechanical seal technology. We have a special range of mechanical seals with hygienic designs for agitators, centrifugal pumps, screw and lobe pumps. Unilever and TNO have tested our BAU design for CIP and sterilization, proving it to be the ideal mechanical seal for food processing applications with the highest hygienic demands.

Our seals are subjected to dynamic tests under duty-simulated conditions before dispatch. We have a 6m³ water tank where custom pumps can be tested. All tests are computer recorded for further analysis and reporting. With over 7,000 article numbers for mechanical seal parts in stock, seals can be assembled at short notice when needed.

BAU – HYGIENIC DOUBLE CARTRIDGE SEAL

Huhnseal BAU is the optimum seal construction for installations with very high hygienic demands. All parts of the seal in direct contact with the product or flushing media are manufactured with smooth surfaces, leaving no difficult to clean gaps or cavities.

This unique world patent construction has springs, drive pins and fasteners situated outside the seal. The seal is a double-cartridge design that can seal products at either a higher or lower pressure than the flushing media. The flushing media flow through the seal is controlled to keep all spaces clean.

The BAU seal is suited for mixer constructions as it can absorb large axle movements. To improve the cleaning efficency the BAU seal can be supplied with a special flange welded to the tank. The construction of the flange makes it possible to install a top-mounted mixing-device centric, as well as off-centric. This concept means easier installation and service.

BF – SINGLE SEAL FOR PUMPS AND MIXERS

Huhnseal BF is a single seal in cartridge design. It is very robust and used in both pumps and mixers. It is constructed to handle high numbers of revolutions. It can also absorb large shaft deflections.

BG – COMPACT, HYGIENIC, GLAND PACKING REPLACEMENT SEAL

Huhnseal BG is a very compact seal, with a radial section of only 7mm. It is designed to replace gland packings. It is a hygienic seal with the springs and fasteners on the atmospheric side and smooth surfaces on the product side.

HC – RUBBER BELLOW SEAL FOR MIXERS

Huhnseal-HC is a rubber bellow seal with springs and casing inside the protective rubber boot, giving a smooth and hygienic construction. It is often installed in smaller mixers.

HUHNSEAL LIP-O-RING – HYGIENIC O-RING

An ordinary mechanical seal usually contains a number of o-rings. They form critical points as they have unwanted nooks and crannies where particles can be trapped. The Huhnseal Lip-O-Ring is a hygienically designed alternative. It functions the same way as an o-ring fitted into a half-open groove.
