Hygiena’s system SUREPlus incorporates novel state-of-the-art detection technology that delivers simplicity and affordability through innovation. The system uses ATP bioluminescence to give an instant result, and is used to measure cleanliness and hygiene. One of the unique features of the systems is the very low background noise that means the system can clearly differentiate between results at very low RLU values unlike other systems. This low background confers a high degree of precision and sensitivity to the system at low ATP levels. Other unique features of system SUREPlus include self-calibration and negligible servicing costs.
All leading industry experts agree that the intended use of rapid hygiene tests based on ATP detection is the direct, objective measurement of cleaning processes by measuring the removal of product residues and organic matter. The ATP test is not intended to replace microbiological tests for product contact surfaces.
Hygiena International commissioned CCFRA to test the new Hygiena system SUREPlus instrument. Whilst CCFRA does not endorse specific products or services, its conclusions were that system SUREPlus is a portable ATP detection system that is easy to use, produces accurate and repeatable results and offers the ability to record and analyse the data produced. The ability to have different users on the machine and a variety of different plans and programmes makes the machine ideal for use in factories, laboratories and industry.
The SureTrend data analysis software enables results to be monitored and trended, the various ways of presenting the data ensure that results can be easily broken down and simple to understand.
The machine performs as stated in the operator's manual and the information provided is self-explanatory and easy to follow. The Ultrasnap swab is easy to use and offers a convenient all-in-one test system.
The ATP and the food residue detection experiments demonstrated the sensitivity and repeatability of the system SURE Plus to detect ATP over a range of concentrations and for a range of food groups, with reproducible results.
