Russia Bans Finnish Meat and Dairy

Russia has banned imports of meat and dairy products from 14 Finnish companies.

The country’s food safety agency Rosselkhoznadzor imposed the ban following an inspection by Russian experts in May that found irregularities in sanitary conditions.

Finland’s Valio exports its products to over 40 countries and Russia accounts for about 30% of the company’s total export volume.

Finland expects the issue to be resolved within the next few weeks.
