DSM to build premix manufacturing plant in Poland

Global science-based company Royal DSM is planning to build a dedicated premix manufacturing facility for the maternal and infant nutrition market in Poland.

Construction of the new facility in Buk is set to begin shortly.

Financial details of the investment have not been disclosed by the company. Upon completion, the plant is expected to double the production output at the site within the next couple of years.

DSM Nutritional Products Human Nutrition & Health Europe, EMEA vice-president Frédéric Boned said: “At DSM, we are always looking for new ways to innovate and help our customers to create market-leading nutritional products for mothers and their babies.

“Achieving high standards of quality has always been of particular importance in this segment. The planning of a dedicated early-life nutrition premix plant is a first for the industry and, throughout the design phase, we have been able to incorporate a number of advanced technologies that reflect the specialist needs of the market.”

The new plant will be equipped with advanced mixing technology, which will allow DSM to develop complex infant formulas to meet the requirements of early-life nutrition manufacturers.

Once completed, the company claims that the premix plant will meet quality and hygiene standards, while it will be run by dedicated personnel experienced in the early-life nutrition sector.

DSM noted that brand owners that have partnered with the company can benefit from its wide ingredient portfolio and scientific expertise.

In July, DSM announced a collaboration with APK on recycling multilayer food packaging films.
