Chinese Pork Company Starts Oil Plant

Chinese food processing company Zhongpin, which specialises in pork and pork products, is moving into the food oil business.

The move will allow Zhongpin to make use of raw materials used in the making of pork.

The plant will operate out of the Zhongpin Food Industrial Park in Changge, Hennan, and will have an initial annual capacity of 20,000 metric tonnes.

Construction is planned to start on the $5.6m plant next month with operation planned for the second quarter of 2010.
