Vibrant Foods acquires Cofresh Snack Foods in UK

UK-based Vibrant Foods has announced the acquisition of Cofresh Snack Foods (CSF), a manufacturer of Indian and healthy snacks.

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed by either company.

Established this year by Exponent Private Equity, Vibrant Foods offers its products under TRS Foods and East End Foods brands.

Its offerings portfolio includes pulses, spices, flour and Indian ingredients and snacks.

Vibrant Foods chairman Rohit Samani said: “We are very pleased to welcome Cofresh Snack Foods to Vibrant Foods. Upon completion of the deal, CSF will be joining the Vibrant Foods brand portfolio, making it a leading manufacturer and distributor of South Asian ethnic foods in the UK and continental Europe.

The deal will also enable Exponent Private Equity to further strengthen its position in the ethnic foods and healthy snacking segment.

CSF stakeholders will be reinvesting in Vibrant Foods to acquire a certain stake in the company with a minority equity interest.

CSF managing director and shareholder Priyesh Patel said: “Becoming part of Vibrant Foods is opening up an exciting new chapter in our history. There are tremendous growth opportunities for our sector, as popularity for both ethnic and healthy snacking products continues to grow.”
