siggi’s introduces no added sugar yoghurt in US

US-based Icelandic-style yoghurt maker siggi’s has launched new whole-milk no added sugar yoghurt in the market.

The yoghurt products will be available in two different flavours, including banana and cinnamon, as well as peach and mango. They will be rolled out to the retailers across the US this month.

siggi’s founder Siggi Hilmarssonsaid: “We have always been at the forefront of reducing sugar in yoghurt, and we are constantly pushing ourselves to use even less sugar while still making delicious yoghurt with no strange additives.

“We understand that consumers today more than ever want less sugar.

“In a recent survey we conducted, over 80% of participants noted that they are actively trying to reduce their sugar consumption.

“Our hope in launching this no added sugar line of skyr is to provide everyone with tasty new yoghurt that takes one step further in sugar reduction.”

The company claims that its two new products are made without using artificial preservatives, sweeteners, flavours or colours, and has been sweetened with the natural sweetness of fruits.

siggi’s further explained that its whole-milk no-sugar skyr contains 10g of protein and only 5g of natural sugar per serving, and will be available for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $1.69.
