GNT Group begins construction of new laboratory in Mierlo, Netherlands

GNT Group has begun construction of a new laboratory facility at its headquarters in Mierlo, the Netherlands, as it aims to achieve a leading position in the Colouring Foods segment.

It is investing €3m in the construction of the new laboratory facility.

The laboratory will boost the company’s research and development capabilities to improve product quality.

GNT Group managing director Hendrik Hoeck said: “This boost in research and development is bringing our product development to the next level and sources additional quality control measures to make them even faster and more efficient.

“The expansion stands fully in line with our long-term business strategy and backs up our targeted annual growth of 5% to 10% until 2020.

“As a pioneer in the field of Colouring Foods, innovation is core to us: we have always been driven by the goal to continuously extend the ease and possibilities of applying Colouring Foods, as well as their precise fit to any product, in order to make colouring food with food the industry standard.”

Construction work of the the new laboratory is expected to be completed by next year.

The new laboratory will be equipped with advanced technologies for testing including microbiological analyses and hygiene monitoring.
