Danish Crown establishes head office in Vietnam to boost sales in Southeast Asia

Denmark-based food processing company Danish Crown has opened its new head office in Vietnam to boost the sales of its meat products in Southeast Asia.

The efforts will be supported by two other offices located in Taiwan and the Philippines, which will start operating within a few months.

According to the company, the decision is in response to the increase in meat consumption in the region.

The Danish food company currently exports its meat products to Europe and other countries in Southeast Asia through its ESS-FOOD subsidiary.

ESS-FOOD CEO Morten Holm said: “We simply need to be even closer to our customers in Southeast Asia.

“There’s increasing interest in meat from Europe, and particularly in Danish pork, so it’s natural to expand our network of salespeople and agents by establishing our own sales offices.

“This means better service for our customers on a day-to-day basis, and creates the best possible foundation for boosting sales in the region.”

The company also noted that the Philippines is currently the fifth largest market for pork from Europe, and over the last year the exports have increased by nearly 15%.

Danish Crown’s sales to Thailand and Singapore will be handled by the Vietnam office.

ESS-FOOD and Danish Crown have operated separately in the region until now, but the sales force will now represent both companies according to Danish Crown’s 4WD strategy.
