Cara Technology introduces flavour standards for taste panel testing

Cara Technology has introduced a line-up of taste panel training products for the drinks, cider and wine industries.

A range of over 250 individual reference flavour standards will be directly delivered to the market under the brand name AROXA.

According to the company, this will offer quality assurance professionals and taste panel leaders the tools required to not only develop but also to maintain skilled taste panels for product testing, descriptive profiling and product development.

The new range can be used to train tasters, validate assessors’ performance and conduct sensory quality assurance tests on products before they are released in the market.

The flavour standards feature food-grade materials that are safe to smell and taste, and are treated to eliminate sensory impurities before being nano-encapsulated to ensure a long shelf-life.

The standards are presented in unit-dosed gelatine capsules, providing sufficient material to generate exact concentrations of flavour in each litre of product.
