US-based Green Valley Creamery has expanded its lactose-free range of dairy products with the launch of its new organic, lactose-free cottage cheese.

Green Valley Creamery was created by Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery and is primarily engaged in the production of lactose-free yoghurts, kefirs, sour cream and cream cheese products.

The company noted that its new cottage cheese is produced using simple, clean ingredients, including organic milk and cream, Celtic sea salt, lactase enzyme and live, active cultures.

"We are proud to introduce another real dairy product to serve the estimated 30-50 million Americans who are lactose-intolerant or lactose-sensitive."

Redwood Hill Farm Creamery Sales & Marketing vice-president Rich Martin said: “Cottage cheese is by far the most requested item by our customers.

“It is high in protein and is a delicious, versatile dairy product that can be enjoyed in numerous ways.

“We are proud to introduce another real dairy product to serve the estimated 30-50 million Americans who are lactose-intolerant or lactose-sensitive.

“We strive to bring the joy of real dairy back into people’s lives, and our organic, lactose-free cottage cheese is another positive step in that direction.”

The company’s new lactose-free cottage cheese contains 4% milk fat and is claimed to be certified organic, kosher and gluten-free.

It is also said to be free of additives, gums, stabilisers or preservatives.

Green Valley Creamery cottage cheese will be available across the US at New Seasons Market on the West Coast, Roundy’s and Mariano’s in the Midwest, and MOM’s Organic Markets in the Northeast from this month, as well as other natural food stores for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $5.29 per 12oz cup.
