Fairfield Gourmet Food to acquire Foxtail Foods

David’s Cookies’ parent company Fairfield Gourmet Food has announced the acquisition of Foxtail Foods for an undisclosed sum.

Foxtail Foods has been involved in the production of pies, cookie dough, muffin batter, pancake mixes and other dessert items since 1986.

David’s Cookies president Ari Margulies said: “We are excited at this opportunity to expand David’s Cookies production and distribution footprint to the Midwest.

“Pies will make a great addition to our already well-rounded portfolio. We are especially excited to provide our customers with the ability to offer their patron’s freshly baked pies in addition to freshly baked cookies.

“David’s Cookies is committed to the continued expansion and upgrade of Foxtail Foods’ state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

The deal is expected to be completed in October.

Foxtail Foods currently operates a 120,000ft² manufacturing facility in Fairfield, Ohio. Production at the facility will continue following the completion of the acquisition.

The deal will also benefit Foxtail as it will have access to David’s Cookies production facilities in Cedar Grove, as well as Fairfield in New Jersey and Longwood of Florida.

Foxtail Foods’ production capacity and product offerings are also expected to benefit from the agreement.

The acquisition will further strengthen Fairfield Gourmet Foods’ position in the bakery and pastry products production segment.
