Deals this week: Naturally Splendid Enterprises, Fabcon Food Systems, Firmenich

Naturally Splendid Enterprises, via its subsidiary Prosnack Natural Foods (Prosnack), has been awarded a contract worth C$5m ($3.8m) by an undisclosed food company.

The five-year contract is set to involve the manufacturing of bars and snacks.

Naturally Splendid Enterprises is a consumer products company based in Canada.

Fabcon Food Systems (Fabcon) has won a contract from Greek gluten-free snack producer Unismack for the supply of bespoke machinery.

The company will supply and install a seasoning system at Unismack’s bakery in Kilkis, Greece, as part of the deal.

Fabcon will also supply a vibratory product inlet feed conveyor, as well as a continuous, airless oil applicator, screw feeder and scarf feeder under the agreement.

The contract also includes the provision of a stainless-steel seasoning drum and vibratory product discharge conveyor.

UK-based Fabcon is a food processing equipment manufacturer, while Unismack is a gluten-free snacks producer based in Greece.

Firmenich has formed a strategic collaboration with Nelixia for the expansion of its natural ingredients business across Central America.

Switzerland-based Firmenich is a fragrance and flavour company, while Nelixia is a natural ingredients producer based in Guatemala.

Firmenich’s investment is expected to expand Nelixia’s offering of high-quality, ethically sourced raw materials.

Starbucks has entered a 21-year strategic agreement for the production, distribution and marketing of its premium milk-based ready-to-drink coffee with Arla Foods.

The deal is primarily focused on the EMEA region, which covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

US-based Starbucks is a roaster, marketer, and retailer of speciality coffee, while Arla Foods is a Danish farmer-owned dairy co-operative.

Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) has selected JDA Software to strengthen the transformation of its digital supply chain.

CPF is an agro-industrial and food company based in Thailand, while US-based JDA Software is a software and consultancy firm.

CPF aims to leverage JDA’s software solutions to improve its consumer base and gain a hold on all end-to-end activities across its businesses.
