Kazakhstan pursues diversification agenda

A general view taken on June 30, 2013 shows the Bolashak oil plant on the Kashagan offshore oil field near Atyrau in Kazakhstan, following a presentation for British Prime Minister David Cameron and Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev. David Cameron arrived in Kazakhstan on June 30 on the first ever trip by a serving British prime minister, hoping to boost trade ties but also promising to raise human rights concerns. Cameron is leading a large business delegation to the mineral-rich Central Asian nation and hopes to sign trade deals worth more than £700 million ($1.06 billion, 820 million euros).
