Food industry M&A deals total $49.45m in Europe in March 2021

Total food industry M&A deals worth $49.45m were announced in Europe in March 2021, led by Siniora Food Industries’ $28.3m acquisition of Trakya ET, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 54.8% over the previous month of $109.46m and a drop of 75.9% when compared with the last 12-month average of $205.51m.

Europe held a 28.15% share of the global food industry M&A deal value that totalled $175.69m in March 2021. With a 16.11% share and deals worth $28.3m, Turkey was the top country in Europe’s M&A deal value across food industry.

In terms of M&A deal activity, Europe recorded 23 deals during March 2021, marking an increase of 155.56% over the previous month and a rise of 91.67% over the 12-month average. The UK recorded six deals during the month.
