Pilgrim's Pride has acquired Moy Park from Brazilian meat processing company JBS.

Moy Park’s equity is estimated to be £790m ($1bn approximately), while the total enterprise value is estimated to be £1bn ($1.3bn approximately).

The acquirer company funded the transaction through cash, existing credit facilities, and through an issue of a Subordinated Seller Financing Note by one of its wholly-owned subsidiary to JBS.

Pilgrim’s Pride engaged Barclays as a financial advisor, and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind and Wharton & Garrison as legal advisors for the transaction.

Based in the US, Pilgrim's Pride is a chicken processing company, while Moy Park is a poultry meat processor and supplier headquartered in Craigavon, UK.

Commercial catering and food service company operator Elior Group has acquired a stake in AWADAC, which designs and manufactures furniture required by the food service industry.

Both companies involved in the transaction are based in France.

UK-based food processing and retailing company Associated British Foods has agreed to acquire Acetum, an Italy-based company engaged in the production of balsamic vinegar of Modena (BVM).

The target company’s product range includes a variety of apple vinegars and other condiments, which are sold in more than 60 countries.

Associated British Foods has engaged Citigate Dewe Rogerson as its financial advisor for the transaction.

Switzerland-based chocolate production equipment manufacturer Buhler has reached an agreement to acquire the Austrian confectionery equipment manufacturing company The Haas Group.

The acquisition is expected to enhance the acquirer company’s consumer foods product portfolio and enable it to offer new food varieties to its customers. The company also proposes to integrate the target company in the innovation management network.

Operating from its own manufacturing sites located across six countries, the target company manufactures production equipment for wafers, hard and soft biscuits, ice cream cones, cakes and baked goods.
