M&As this week: Alimentation Sante, Tomra

France-based Alimentation Sante has completed the acquisition of organic food products maker Vegetalia and Corporacio Alimentaria Satoki, from founding shareholder Salvador Sala Druguet.

Alimentation Sante owner Ebro intends to increase its market share in organic foods through the acquisition.

Tomra is set to acquire post-harvest solutions and services provider Compac Holding, after receiving approval from the New Zealand Overseas Investment Office.

The NZD70m ($50.37m) acquisition is expected to be completed on 31 January, following which the target company will be consolidated into the acquirer company’s accounts.

Based in New Zealand, Compac makes packhouse automation systems for sorting fresh fruits such as apples, kiwi fruit, cherries, avocados and citrus.
