Firmenich to offer tailored taste and nutrition solutions in US

Swiss fragrance and flavours company Firmenich has increased its presence in California, US, to cater to customer requirements by providing tailored taste and nutrition solutions, including a new range of organic products.

Firmenich provides improved creation and innovation capabilities with new product development services in the West Coast of the US.

Firmenich flavours division vice-president Chris Perkins said: “Staying at the forefront of creativity and innovation is paramount for us to be the taste and nutrition innovation partner of choice, with unique natural solutions.

“Following our recent acquisition of Natural Flavours, a pioneer in organic-certified flavours, this is the next step on our innovation journey to shape the future of natural food and beverage solutions.”

The company has appointed Karl Witton to lead its West Coast business, who previously was in charge of the company’s savoury business in North America.

Witton said: “Some of the most critical advancements in the food and beverage industry are happening here in the West Coast, led by some of the world’s most forward-thinking companies.

“With our specialised team, we are dedicated to shaping the future with them. From food technologists and flavourists, to marketing and sales experts, we offer cutting-edge services, well beyond flavour creation.”
Set up in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1895, Firmenich is a privately-owned company in the fragrance and flavour business.

Every year, it invests 10% of its turnover in R&D. The firm had an annual turnover of Sfr3.34bn at end June 2017.
