M&As this week: COFCO Tunhe Sugar, Sunshine Holdings, MonkeyBox Food Tech

Sugar and tomato products producer and seller COFCO Tunhe Sugar Co Ltd plans to divest a 100% stake in canned fruits and vegetables wholesale dealer COFCO Tunhe Langfang Tomato Products Co Ltd for $24.94 m.

Both the companies involved in the deal are based in China.

Sunshine Holdings Plc plans to acquire 31.85% stake in Sri Lankan agribusiness company Watawala Plantations PLC from Tata Global Beverages Limited for $18.73m.

Sunshine Holdings is a Srilankan healthcare, agri, FMCG, and energy businesses operator, while Tata Global Beverages is a tea, coffee and beverage products manufacturer based in India.

Watawala Plantations will become a joint venture of Sunshine Holdings and Singapore-based Pyramid Wilmar Plantations Pvt Ltd, following the transaction.

Children’s meal box delivery provider MonkeyBox Food Tech Pvt Ltd has acquired food delivery services provider 75 In A Box.

The acquired company will retain the brand name and operate as a subsidiary of MonkeyBox.

Both the acquirer and acquired companies are based in India.

Hong Kong-based TC Orient Lighting Holdings Limited has signed a non-legally binding memorandum of understanding to acquire 51% equity interest in Beidahuang Wheat Co Ltd.

Based in China, the target company produces food products and is engaged in the import and export of agricultural technology.

The acquirer company is a printed circuit boards and lighting products maker. It plans to make the acquisition either through the subscription of new equity or through the acquisition of equity from current shareholders.
