Welly launches photography competition in UK

UK-based sliced cooked meat brand Welly has launched a WELLY ‘Puddle of the Year’ photography competition for adults and children.

Open to all UK residents, the competition is segregated into three categories, namely general public, children and photographers (students and professionals).

WELLY Foods marketing controller Richard Morris said: “As a brand with families and the outdoors at its core, we felt that 'Puddle of the Year' was the perfect fit.

“By running the campaign on Facebook, we hope to achieve high levels of engagement with both new and existing fans and build on brand awareness.”

The company claimed that the new competition will give consumers the opportunity to embrace the unpredictable British weather and snap a picture of their favourite puddle.

WELLY has collaborated with bloggers and London photography schools to ensure a vast range of entries and support its campaign.

Participants have the option to upload their photograph to a specially built tab on the WELLY Facebook page. The competition begun on 26 September and will close on the 31 October.

Welly’s offerings include sliced hams and wafer-thin roast chicken, which are sold in major retail stores across the country.
