J&J Snack Foods takes over Hill & Valley Premium Bakery

US-based J&J Snack Foods has acquired bakery company Hill & Valley.

Financial details of the transaction have not been revealed by either company.

Hill & Valley offers pre-baked in-store bakery items and has private labelling partnerships with retailers nationwide.

Hill & Valley premium bakery president Doug Davidson said: “J&J brings substantial resources to Hill & Valley on all levels that will continue to make us a value-added supplier to our customers and a company that brings solutions to the table.”

Manufactured and distributed across the US, J&J Snack Foods offerings include superpretzel, bavarian bakery and other soft pretzels, puppie frozen beverages, and sandwiches.

J&J Snack Foods senior vice-president Jerry Law said: “This acquisition rounds out our in-store bakery offerings by expanding our capabilities and customer base, and provides us a newly constructed facility that has ample capacity for growth and a nimble production process.”

J&J has been offering nutritional and affordable branded niche snack foods and beverages to foodservice and retail supermarket outlets.
