Ajinomoto launches eight frozen food varieties across France
Global processed foods manufacturer Ajinomoto has launched eight varieties of frozen Japanese foods in the French food and beverage market.
The compant has partnered a major retailer in the country to expand its presence and establish a sales channel in France
Positive feedback from the retailer indicating that the products have contributed to increased frozen food sales prompted the company to proceed with this full-scale launch of frozen foods, including gyoza and karaage.
The company stated that the demand for Japanese ingredients and seasonings in France is constantly on the rise, due to an increase in Japanese restaurants that mainly serve sushi.
According to its medium-term management plan for the financial year 2017-2019, Ajinomoto intends to promote and expand its Japanese frozen food products in Europe.
The company is also planning to enhance its portfolio to meet the demand of France’s growing Japanese food market, contribute to the health and wellbeing of local consumers, and develop product categories according to local eating habits and food culture.
The manufacturer has been conducting trial sales of its branded frozen foods through its French consolidated subsidiary Ajinomoto Foods Europe, at selected stores in Paris.
