Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts to expand warehouse in Argentina

Golden Peanut and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) subsidiary Tree Nuts are planning to invest in a new warehouse at its receiving and storage facility in Alejandro Roca, Argentina.

 The company claims that its new raw material warehouse will have a 18,000t capacity, loading systems, an overhead belt to receive incoming farmer stock, and an underground belt to feed Golden’s processing operations directly.

Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts president Greg Mills said: “Argentina is one of the largest producers of edible peanuts in the world, and as a major global player, Golden Peanut is investing to ensure that we have more than enough capability to continue to meet increasing demand.

“This project will ensure that we are able to safely and efficiently receive and store increasing volumes of farmer stock so that we can continue to supply customers around the world with the quality peanuts they’ve come to expect from Golden.”

Both companies handle and process peanuts and tree nuts.

Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts Argentina operations president and general manager Carlos Urquiza said: “Increasing crops in the region without corresponding increases in storage have led to bottlenecks and loss of product.

“Our new warehouse will reduce losses, decrease unload times, and improve quality control from the farm field to the customer.

“Coming after significant investments in storage and processing capabilities in the US, this is yet another sign that Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts is continuing to work to ensure that it remains the premier provider of peanuts and peanut products in the world.”

Headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, US,  Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts has 13 processing facilities in the US and one in Argentina.
