Continental Dairy Wins Funds for New Facility

Continental Dairy Products has secured Ottawa County’s entire $31m stimulus allotment to open a powered milk products facility in Coopersville.

The plant, expected to be operational within two years, will be capable of converting four million pounds of milk per year into powdered milk products.

In April, the Indiana-based dairy marketing cooperative had announced its plans for a $90m project to convert the Delphi plant into a powdered milk making unit.

The project will include a mix of new construction and renovations to the existing Delphi building for warehouse and office space.

Continental Dairy was selected from among four projects that submitted applications for the stimulus bonds.
