Tetra Pak Stamped with FSC Labels

Tetra Pak said it plans to use Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) labels on its packaging in the UK and Ireland by 2010.

The packaging firm said it will use paperboard sourced from FSC-certified forests and conservation-controlled sources in the majority of its packaging.

The labelling will enable brands such as Princes, Ribena, Rubicon and Moo to use the logo on their milk, juice and liquid food products.

The company expects its decision will increase FSC-certified packs supply from 200 million to 1.5 billion in the UK and Ireland.

Over the next year, 75% of the cartons made by Tetra Pak for the UK and Ireland will be FSC-certified, Tetra Pak said.
