Nightfood and Omni Food Sales to co-launch ice-cream in New York

Snacks manufacturer Nightfood has partnered with food brokerage firm Omni Food Sales to launch ice cream in New York City and the New York Metropolitan Area.

The move is a part of Nightfood’s efforts to support the growth of its brand.

Headquartered in the Bronx, Omni is said to have assisted several brands in the consumer packaged goods space to introduce their products in the New York market.

Nightfood CEO Sean Folkson said: “Obviously, New York is a tremendous opportunity for any growing brand.

“This is a market unlike any other and requires a hands-on, insider approach.  In addition to a few major chains, independent stores make up a larger percentage of grocery spend than most other major markets.”

Nightfood is currently available in divisions of Kroger, Albertsons and Lowes Foods. The company noted that several other supermarket chains are expected to introduce Nightfood in the following weeks.

The products are expected to be available in new supermarket chains from the beginning of the next month.

Nightfood focuses on delivering snacks which are nutritionally optimised for consumption at night. With more than 80% of the Americans eat snacks regularly at night, the night-time snack market generates more than $50bn annually in sales in the US.

According to the company, the American Pregnancy Association has also endorsed Nightfood ice cream for pregnant women.

Nightfood is a subsidiary of Nightfood Holdings, which also owns MJ Munchies.
