Nactis Flavours acquires aromatic raw materials portfolio from PCAS

Aromatic raw materials, flavours and aromatic ingredients manufacturer Nactis Flavours has acquired the aromatic raw materials portfolio of PCAS Group.

Nactis Flavours further strengthened its product portfolio with the strategic acquisition a year after it acquired Robertet Savoury, a Belgian subsidiary of the Robertet Group.

The range of PCAS aromatic raw materials will complement its Synarome brand, which specialises in aromatic raw materials and distilled essential oils.

Nactis Flavours head of marketing Constance Vuatrin was quoted by Foodingredientsfirst.com saying: "The acquisition is strategic as the aromatic raw materials portfolio acquired will expand our current one.

"Aromatic raw materials are strategic for two main reasons.

"First, they are essential in terms of flavours composition. Acquiring new raw materials is a way to drive our internal innovation.

"Secondly, it let us become one of the leading European manufacturer of niche aromatic molecules. This acquisition will create very positive synergies with our Synarome brand."

Based in Longjumeau, France, the PCAS Group specialises in pharmaceutical fine chemicals and specialty chemicals.

The firm divested the aromatic raw materials business as this portfolio was not a core part of its strategy.

The products, which are currently produced in the PCAS Bourgoin-Jallieu plant, will be shifted to France’s Nactis Flavours Chartres facility in the Cosmetic Valley.

Nactis Flavours earmarks approximately 7% of its annual budget for research and development, and received bpifrance’s label of ‘Innovative Company’, reported Foodingredientsfirst.com.

Nactis Flavours is setting up a new R&D centre of excellence in its Bondoufle headquarters near Paris.

Nactis Flavours founder Hervé Lecesne said: "These new activities will allow Nactis Flavours to become one of the leading European manufacturers of niche aromatic molecules."
