FrieslandCampina to double infant nutrition production capacity

FrieslandCampina Domo plans to invest €130m ($180.47m) in the expansion of its Netherlands-based production plants at Beilen and Bedum to double the production capacity of total infant formulas and infant nutrition ingredients.

The company plans to invest €100m ($138.82m) in its Beilen plant to increase its mixing capacity and to set up a new drier and packaging line for infant nutrition.

The remaining investment will be used to expand the Bedum’s plant’s processing capacity for demineralised whey ingredients.

The expansion project is slated to be completed in 2013.

FrieslandCampina Domo, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Koninklijke FrieslandCampina, produces cheese, infant and toddler nutrition, butter, cream, desserts and functional dairy-based ingredients.
