Deals this week: Asa Meat, Guangdong Wen’s Food, Upstate Niagara Cooperative

Asa Meat has reached an agreement to sell its slaughterhouse business and assets in South Africa for Rs15m ($1.14m).

Based in South Africa, Asa Meat is a subsidiary of UK-based mining and development company Asa Resource Group.

Chinese meat and food products company Guangdong Wen’s Food has reached an agreement to raise CNY2bn ($294.64m) through a second tranche public offering of five-year bonds.

The bonds are being issued at a coupon rate of 4.87%.

Upstate Niagara Cooperative has entered an agreement with Kraft Heinz for acquiring the latter’s cheese plant in Campbell, New York, US.

Both the entities involved in the transaction are based in the US.

Upstate Niagra Cooperative is engaged in the production and marketing of dairy products, while Kraft Heinz is involved in packaged food and beverages.
