Creekstone Farms to expand beef processing capacity in Arkansas

Creekstone Farms Premium Beef is set to expand its capacity in Arkansas, with plans to create around 300 new jobs over the next five years.

The company currently processes naturally and conventionally raised premium Black Angus beef at its facility on Goff Industrial Park Road, and it currently employs 720 people.

As part of the expansion, it plans to establish an additional 71,000ft² building to replace areas of the existing building, which was damaged by a recent fire in a conveyor belt.

The site will feature a new refrigerated fabrication floor area, packaging, combo cooler storage, refrigerated truck docks, processing support and equipment rooms, inspection and production offices and employee welfare spaces.

In support of Creekstone’s expansion, the Kansas Department of Commerce has partnered with the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Kansas Department of Transportation, Arkansas City leadership and Cowley County Economic Development Partnership.

Governor Sam Brownback said, "Creekstone Farms is an important contributor to our state’s economic growth and will continue to invest and create good jobs in Arkansas City."

Creekstone General Counsel S Douglas Mackay commented, "With assistance and support from both state and local officials, we have been able to lay out a long-term plan that will grow Creekstone and add jobs."

Established in 1995, Creekstone Farms processes Black Angus beef products, and it offers briskets, boneless strips, burgers, filet mignons, ground beef, porterhouse, ribs and T-bones, among others.
