Müller unveils gin and tonic inspired fat-free yoghurt in UK

Müller has announced the launch of its first gin and tonic inspired fat-free yoghurt, ‘Müllerlight Gin & Tonic’.

Produced using milk from British farms, the new yoghurt is said to be high in protein and contains no added sugar. It is available as Gin & Tonic flavour, as well as Pink Gin & Elderflower flavour.

Müller chief marketing officer Michael Inpong said: “Müllerlight is one of the nation’s favourite yoghurt brands, but with constant shifting consumer behaviour, we need to find smart ways to grow the brand and drive category growth.

“We’ve already strengthened the core with a new and improved recipe, and we’re launching two new limited editions, Müllerlight Irish Coffee Flavour Yogurt and Müllerlight Mince Pie Flavour Yogurt.

“Whether eaten on its own, or with fruit, nuts, or granola, we think Müllerlight Natural and Müllerlight Greek Style Natural appeal to everyone, especially those following various weight management programmes.”

The company is also planning to launch disruptive innovations, such as Müllerlight Amore, and bring Müllerlight into a new segment with its first-ever range of natural yoghurt.

The company has rolled out its yoghurt variant across Tesco and Asda stores in a pack of six. It will be retailed for an RRP of £3.

In July, Müller announced the completion of its £50m ($62.2m) expansion project to build a chilled yoghurt manufacturing facility in Telford, UK.

The expansion, which created nearly 65 jobs in the area, enables the company to produce 500 million pots a year.
