Kerry opens first ingredient facility in Moscow, Russia

Global taste and nutrition company Kerry has officially opened its first ingredient facility in Moscow, Russia.

Occupying a site in the Istra district, Kerry’s new 7,000mt² production facility and warehouse complex will produce ingredients for the meat processing and snacks market.

When the plant reaches its full production capacity, it will be able to produce 26,000t of products every year, allowing the firm to meet increasing consumer demand.

Kerry Group’s CEO Edmond Scanlon said: “Kerry has been in business in Russia for more than 12 years. We opened our regional development and application centre in 2014, and the building of this state-of-the-art facility was for us the next logical step in the development of our business in the region.

“Over the years, our business here has gone from strength to strength and as the Russian food industry has developed and expanded, so have we and so has our customer base.

“This facility means we can now deliver an even better service and get closer to our customers in this part of the world, while offering locally produced goods, using locally sourced raw materials.”

The Ingredients produced at the ingredient facility in Moscow will be distributed to Kerry’s customers in Russia and the countries of the Customs Union and CIS, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.

The facility was officially opened by Moscow’s Minister for Agriculture Andrei Razin and Edmond Scanlon.

Razin said: “The opening of this modern and sustainably developed production plant will not only contribute to the development of the food industry in our region but in all of Russia.”
