IFF to open new flavours and fragrances facility in India

International Flavors and Fragrances’ (IFF) new flavours and fragrances facility at Sri City in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh has begun construction.

This is part of its investment in the greater Asia region.

The facility is expected to commence operations in December 2019.

It will be the largest flavour and fragrance facility in India besides being the largest IFF facility in Greater Asia once operational.

It is being built on 32 acres and will serve customers across the India and Asia region.

IFF chairman and CEO Andreas Fibig said: “In this economically vibrant country, it is critical that we invest to provide our customers with winning tastes and scents.

“This new facility is fitted with capabilities tailored for our customers’ needs.

“Coupled with our excellent consumer insights teams and their deep understanding of the local markets, we are well-positioned to live up to our promise to be our customers’ partner of choice.”

IFF India managing director MG Prakash said: “India is a priority market for IFF. We are excited about our investment at Sri City and the world-class manufacturing facility designed to meet our customers’ current and future needs.’’

Strategically located in Sri City, the plant will be served by adequate logistics, skilled labour, as well as good access to infrastructure and utilities.

The location has rainwater harvesting capabilities and is being built with energy-efficient building materials and equipment. It will maximise natural daylight and use low-consumption LED lighting.
