Gosh! Food to build new manufacturing plant in UK

UK-based Gosh! Food is reportedly planning to build a new manufacturing facility for vegan and free-from food products.

Based in Milton Keynes, Gosh! Food offers a wide range of products such as sausages, bites and burgers.

The company is said to invest £4.5m ($5.8m) into the new facility, which is expected to come online early next year.

Once operational, the new 17,000ft² facility will be completely allergen-free and mark Gosh! Food’s second manufacturing unit.

Gosh! Food CEO Jane Rayner said: “We believe strongly that food should be as natural as possible and have a brand that prides itself on offering high-quality, great-tasting and perfectly natural products.

“With 45% of grocery shoppers either following or considering a plant-based diet, demand for plant-based products has grown significantly. We look forward to being able to continue to grow our capacity to meet demand and support retailers in improving the way we eat.

“We’re also excited about the opportunities that expanding to a second site presents in creating new jobs in an exceptionally difficult economic time.”

The manufacturing facility is expected to create 25 new jobs in the region.

Gosh! Food added that it will use the new facility to further expand its portfolio, foray into new food categories and meet consumer demand.

In addition to the investment, Gosh! Food is said to have appointed Jahangir Khan as its category manager.

Khan was previously associated served as innovation and category controller at Charlie Bigham’s in the UK.
