Deoleo enters strategic agreement with Viñaoliva in Spain

Olive oil producer Deoleo has entered a strategic partnership with Spanish cooperative Viñaoliva in order to innovate the olive oil sector.

The agreement is said to be part of the company’s commitment to build a strategic partnership with organisations that are committed to quality and service.

The cooperative currently works with olive farmers in Extremadura.

Deoleo chairman and CEO Pierluigi Tosato said: “The alliance between Deoleo and Viñaoliva brings together natural synergies, as our two organisations seek to re-evaluate and iterate our skills and processes to drive points of uniqueness and quality.

“We want to provide innovation to the sector and a transparent approach for our consumers with full traceability from farm to table.”

Under the new partnership, Deoleo and Viñaoliva will collaborate on improving quality from the point of origin, increased study of olive varieties, new grinding models and packaging of oils.

The product traceability will also be further strengthened in order to increase the transparency for the consumers.

Deoleo ensures the supply of a quality raw material through a joint and transparent model with Viñaoliva’s guaranteed fair price system for its members that focuses on the quality and expertise of their farmers.

Viñaoliva president José Luis Gordillo said: “Growing new markets and reaching new customers who value the quality of our products is one of the key objectives of Viñaoliva that we hope to achieve with this agreement with the Deoleo multinational.”

With the help of the new agreement, Deoleo intends to achieve stable relationships between the different sectors that compose the olive oil production chain in Spain.

Last November, Deoleo entered an alliance with the Spanish Union of Small Farmers and Rancher called UPA.
