Deals this week: Wattle Health Australia Limited, Farmwise, QwikPik Technology

Wattle Health Australia Limited (WHA) has signed an agreement with Organic Dairy Farmers of Australia Limited (ODFA) and Niche Dairy Pty Ltd to form a joint venture (JV) company named Corio Bay Dairy Group (CBDG).

WHA will own 45% in the JV company, while ODFA will own 50% and Niche will own the remaining 5%.

CBDG will be responsible for the design, construction, and operation of an organic spray drying facility in Australia.

WHA is investing $63m, while Niche is investing $7m for the development of the new facility and for the initial working capital requirements of the newly formed JV company.

WHA is a developer and marketer of nutritional products, while ODFA is an organic dairy cooperative company owned by the farmers of Australia and Niche is a producer and distributor of products for the food industry.

All parties involved in the deal are based in Australia.

The deal will enable Wattle Health to vertically integrate its operations from the farm to consumers.

US-based frozen foods producer Farmwise has raised $4.5m in a venture funding round led by Cleveland Avenue.

Cleveland Avenue is a venture capital firm based in the US.

Proceeds will be used by Farmwise to strengthen its business.

QwikPik Technology Pvt Ltd (Yumlane) has raised Rs260m ($4m) through a venture financing round led by RB Investments.

Based in India, Yumlane serves ready-to-eat snacks and meals in boxes, while RB Investments is a venture capital firm based in Singapore.

The company will use funds towards the development of new products.

Libstar Holdings plans for an initial public offering (IPO) of shares to raise ZAR1.5bn ($124.48m).

The company plans to free float 40% of its stake on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in the next two months. The management is expected to hold 10% stake in Libstar.

The Abraaj Group and other shareholders will divest their respective stakes in the company, as part of the offering.

Based in South Africa, Libstar Holdings is a manufacturer and distributor of fast-moving consumer goods.

Proceeds raised through the offering will be used by Libstar towards investments in manufacturing and business growth.

City Pantry Limited has raised £4m ($5.63m) through a venture financing round led by private equity firm Octopus Investments.

Newable Private Investing, a holding company, and other investors also participated in the financing round.

City Pantry Limited operates as an online marketplace for office catering needs.

All companies involved in the transaction are based in the UK.

City Pantry plans to use funds to strengthen its position in London and expand its business and market reach to new cities in the UK.

US-based chain Domino’s Pizza plans to raise $825m by offering new securitised notes through its subsidiaries.

Funds raised will be used by Domino’s Pizza towards $491.3m in outstanding 2015 notes and for general corporate purposes.

Here Holdings has raised $4m through a series A financing round led by Listen Ventures.

Here Holdings is a provider of bean dips, salad dressings, and cold-pressed juices, while Listen Ventures is a venture capital firm. Both companies are based in the US.

Proceeds will be used by Here Holdings to expand its business and production capacity.

Meat Corporation of Namibia (Meatco) plans to secure $2.5m by offering convertible notes in a debt offering.

Based in Namibia, Meatco is involved in meat processing and marketing.
