Deals this week: Fruitas Holdings, Zaklady Przemyslu Cukierniczego Otmuchow, Seneca Foods

Philippines food and beverage company Fruitas Holdings plans to raise $39m through an initial public offering (IPO).

Fruitas Holdings plans to utilise the proceeds for future expansions and for the expansion of its food retail business in the Philippines.

Zaklady Przemyslu Cukierniczego Otmuchow plans to issue 12.7 million Series E shares in equity rights offering to raise funds ranging between zl0.2m ($0.05m) and zl2.5m ($0.74m).

As part of the transaction, the exercising shareholders will receive one new share for every share held.

Zaklady Przemyslu Cukierniczego Otmuchow is a confectionery food products provider and is based in Poland.

Seneca Foods has purchased Burnette Foods’ maraschino cherry business based in Michigan.

Seneca Foods is a packaged fruits and vegetable provider, while Burnette Foods is a provider of processed fruits and vegetables.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.

The transaction will enable Seneca to strengthen its maraschino operations and enable Burnette Foods to expand its core business.

Total Produce has agreed to acquire 45% stake in Dole Food Company for $300m.

Based in Ireland, Total Produce is a supplier of fruits and vegetables, while Dole Food Company is a producer of fresh fruits and vegetables based in the US.

Total Produce plans to retain the Dole management team, following the transaction.

The acquisition will enable Total Produce to expand its global footprint.

Orkla has acquired Danish bakery Struer Brød through its subsidiary Orkla Foods Sverige.

Based in Norway, Orkla is a supplier of branded consumer goods.

The acquisition will guarantee production capacity for the company and provide product development opportunities.

Fresh Del Monte has acquired Mann Packing for $361m through its subsidiary Del Monte Fresh Produce.

Fresh Del Monte is a producer and distributor of fresh and fresh-cut fruit and vegetables, while Mann Packing is a producer and supplier of vegetable products.

Both the companies involved in the acquisition are based in the US.

The transaction will enable Fresh Del Monte to expand its footprint in North America.

Conagra Brands has acquired frozen breakfast and entrée flatbread pocket sandwiches producer Sandwich Bros.

The acquisition will expand the food company’s capabilities in the frozen handheld category.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.
