In 2010 Riveridge Packing installed a complete turnkey system designed and installed by Compac Sorting Equipment, along with partners Fruit Handling Systems (FHS) and Taste Technologies. Compac supplied two sorters for the packhouse, one with Compac InVision 9000 blemish sorting as the pregrader, the other with InVision 5000 color sorting as a packing line, filling poly bags and trays. FHS designed and installed the infeed and perpherial equipment which links the two sorters together and Taste Technologies installed near infrared (NIR) sorting units to sort apples based on their internal quality.
