Food industry venture financing deals total $592.33m in China in Q1 2021

Total food industry venture financing deals worth $592.33m were announced in the in Q1 2021, with $300m venture financing of Guoquan Shihui being the sector’s biggest investment, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 540.8% over the previous quarter and a rise of 161.4% when compared with the last four-quarter average of $226.63m.

China held a 40.57% share of the global food industry venture financing deal value that totalled $1.46bn in Q1 2021.

In terms of deal activity, China recorded 24 deals during Q1 2021, marking an increase of 26.32% over the previous quarter and a a rise of 50.00% over the last four-quarter average.
