To satisfy increasing market demands, raw bakery ingredients manufacturer Zeelandia sought to optimise product quality, improve productivity and reduce downtime.
The key search criteria for the new sieving machinery included the ability to achieve capacities of 2t of bakery powder per hour while meeting strict hygiene and safety standards such as Hazard and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and ATEX legislation, as well as sieving products on varying mesh sizes with minimal disruption to the production process.
Due to an already established relationship, Zeelandia knew it could rely on Russell Finex to provide the sieving solution it was looking for. Realising the benefits of Russell Finex’s experience and testing facilities, Zeelandia installed two custom-built 900mm Russell Compact Sieves®, with one screening machine fitted with the Russell Vibrasonic® deblinding system to prevent the mesh screen from blocking.
To satisfy Zeelandia’s objectives, the units were customised with low-sieve decks and enlarged underpans to enable the units to fit neatly into the existing process. They were also fitted with Russell Finex’s high-quality mesh, enabling rapid screen changeover, reducing downtime and improving productivity.
In addition, the units were supplied to meet the ATEX approval ratings and were fully compliant with strict HACCP and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hygiene standards.
For more than 80 years, Russell Finex has manufactured and supplied innovative safety screening solution to improve product quality, enhance productivity, safeguard workers health, and ensure powders and liquids are contamination-free.
