The Danish manufacturer of food emulsifiers, PALSGAARD, has opened a new emulsifier factory in Zierikzee, Holland. The factory operates under the name of EMULSION HOLLAND bv, and has for decades specialized in high grade PGPR emulsifiers for the chocolate industry.
The growing demand for PGPR emulsifiers for the confectionery industry is now matched by PALSGAARD. The new plant in Holland is designed to meets all requirements related to Food Safety and Quality. PALSGAARD has developed a special process that will remove any off flavours in the final emulsifier. This process has been further developed in the new factory, so PALSGAARD continues to supply the most flavour neutral PGPR emulsifiers in the market. Furthermore the factory has a fully HALAL and KOSHER aproval.
PALSGAARD products are implemented in various chocolate and coating recipes around the world, and help the chocolate industry to control the flow properties in liquid chocolate masses. Palsgaard’s high-grade PGPR emulsifiers also enable the chocolate factories to lower their consumption of cocoa butter substantially. Enrobing of bars and various bakery products is another typical application area for PGPR, where the cake manufacturer adjusts the desired thickness of the chocolate layer.
Beside PGPR for the chocolate industry a range of specialty emulsifiers for the margarine and bakery industry is manufactured. The typical applications for these emulsifiers are low-fat spreads and pan release agents.
The factory also contains an extruder-line manufacturing structural ingredients like extruded cereals for the bread industry.
In order to be able to deliver just-in-time, the new factory in Holland includes a modern warehouse. Also handling is facilitated, as the PALSGAARD PGPR is available in various packaging options: 25kg PE-pails, 200kg steel drums and 975kg IBC’s (Pallet containers). Especially delivery in IBC’s has improved the handling of PGPR at the end user, as well as reducing the transportation costs in the various steps of the distribution chain.
With modern pilot plant facilities in Singapore, Denmark and Mexico, PALSGAARD is able to support the confectionery industry “on the spot” facilitating implementation of specialty emulsifiers in the customer’s recipes and processes.
