Uniekaas divests packaging facility to DOC Dairy Partners


Cheese manufacturer Uniekaas has completed the sale of its packaging and cut-and-wrap facility in Kaatsheuvel, the Netherlands, to German dairy cooperative DOC Dairy Partners for an undisclosed amount.

The deal is in line with Uniekaas’ strategy to refocus on its core competencies of offering quality cheese products manufactured in Holland.

Uniekaas owners Willem Jan Rote and Paul Wilde said: "The sale of this part of our business will expand the Best Cheese Global capability to invest in our key brands and markets going forward.

“We are convinced that our production, ageing and packaging facilities in Holland Kaatsheuvel are in good hands with DOC Dairy Partners.

“Our Parrano and Tjiezi brands are currently showing healthy growth and with the ability to infuse further investments against these brands we expect to accelerate our overall growth trends.”

As part of the sale, Uniekaas will now be known as Best Cheese Global (BCG) and will focus on the European, Asian and North American markets.

BCG will feature Parrano, Tjiezi, Melkbus crafted farmstead cheeses, Vintage Goudas, The Hollandse line of cheeses, Coach Farm goat cheese and other speciality cheeses.

Best Cheese USA will have the Uniekaas brand name for a period of two years.

Best Cheese will operate as US subsidiary of Best Cheese Global, with focus on sourcing cheeses from Holland, and producing goat cheeses at Coach Farm.
