Digital media start-up One Green Planet has launched its new all-vegan recipe app, Food Monster.

The users of the app will get thousands of plant-based recipes on their smartphones.

One Green Planet co-founder and editor-in-chief Nil Zacharias said: "The real war against climate change is being fought on our plates, multiple times a day with every food choice we make.

"By choosing to eat more plant-based foods, we can drastically cut our carbon footprint, save precious water supplies, help ensure that vital crop resources are fed to people, rather than livestock and give thousands of species a fighting chance for survival.

"We have the potential to make an enormous positive impact by just changing the way we eat."

The new app will feature more than 5,000 recipes, thereby making it one of the largest collections of vegetarian and dairy-free recipes.

The Food Monster app users can enjoy free access to hundreds of recipes and will need to pay a small subscription fee to get unlimited access to its premium features and recipes.

"Long gone are the days when tofu and brown rice were the only meatless options available."

The app will also provide necessary guidance to the users who wish to know about the wide range of benefits associated with plant-based foods, as well as enable them to share tips and ask questions by joining the Food Monsters community.

One Green Planet co-founder and product lead Preeta Sinha said: "The app makes it easy for anyone, regardless of location, income bracket, or dietary preference to make wholesome recipes that use simple ingredients found in regular grocery stores.

"Long gone are the days when tofu and brown rice were the only meatless options available."

The app will benefit home cooks and professionals from every field by enabling them to create special recipe collections for sale on the app.
