M&As this week: Pioneer Food Group, Ferrero, The Legacy Companies

South Africa-based Pioneer Food Group has acquired UK snack maker Streamfoods Holdings from Wellness Group of companies.

The acquisition of the natural and healthy fruit snacks supplier is worth an estimated £7.5m ($9.92m) and in line with Pioneer Food’s strategy to promote its UK private-label portfolio, as well as its recently upgraded manufacturing capabilities.

Streamfoods’ products are sold under the Fruit Bowl brand in the UK, China and Europe.

Italy-based branded chocolate and confectionery manufacturer Ferrero has made an offer to purchase Belgian biscuit maker N.V. Biscuit Delacre.

A bid for the same has been submitted by a subsidiary of Ferrero. If completed, the acquisition will enable the Italian confectionery group to further grow its business.

Turkish conglomerate Yildiz Holding is the holding company of Biscuit Delacre.

Stainless-steel and copper cookware supplier Legion Industries has been acquired by The Legacy Companies, a food service and consumer products company.

The Legacy Companies is engaged in the design, production and retail of food service equipment, home appliances, and kitchen tools and accessories under popular brands, including Bevles, Blakeslee and ChefsChoice.
