Glencoe acquires speciality food company Robert Rothschild Farm

US-based Glencoe Capital Management (Glencoe) has acquired Robert Rothschild Farm (Rothschild), a specialty food company in Ohio.

Financial details of the transaction have not been divulged.

For more than three decades, Rothschild has been engaged in the production of gourmet sauces, dips and spreads.

Glencoe chairman and CEO David Evans said: “Rothschild has strong brand awareness and a focus on innovative products that are recognised as best-in-class within the speciality food market.

"Working together, we will benefit from and complement each other's expertise and provide broader product capabilities to our customers.”

“This is an investment in long-term growth. These two businesses are compelling specialty food providers with a strong future together, serving consumers’ rapidly growing desire for all-natural, premium food products.”

Rothschild expands Glencoe’s food products group and will be combined with Cincinnati-based food manufacturer Clearbrook Farms, which was acquired by Glencoe last year.

According to Glencoe, both Clearbrook and Rothschild have been innovators in the specialty food and ingredient markets, and this combination will bring expanded capabilities in innovation.

Clearbrook Farms president and CEO Andy Liscow said: "Like Rothschild, Clearbrook Farms has a long history as a category leader. Working together, we will benefit from and complement each other's expertise and provide broader product capabilities to our customers.”

Since 1924, Clearbrook Farms has been manufacturing preserves, butters, fillings and sauces.
