Duke Food Productions acquires new manufacturing facility in Texas

US-based private label food manufacturer Duke Food Productions has acquired a new manufacturing facility in Texas.

The new 110,000ft² plant is the first investment made by Duke outside South Carolina.

The company anticipates a $10m capital investment in the new facility and 200 new full-time jobs over the next five years.

Duke CEO Andrew Smart said: “Bonham represents the values and standards we, as an organisation, believe in. You can't find a finer community to be a part of. We look forward to working together to create jobs and opportunity for the people of Texas.

“Growing our business west will increase our strategic capabilities. This was a natural next step for our business. This is an incredible time for the Duke brand.”

The new plant is expected to be operational by second quarter of next year.

Located 60 miles north of Dallas, the new plant will be producing ready-to-eat dips, salads, spreads, salsas, and fresh and frozen bakery products, which Duke currently produces for grocery chains and restaurants nationwide.

Texas governor Greg Abbott said: “Texas' friendly economic climate continues to attract companies from across the nation and globe to expand and grow their enterprises."

Duke will also move its corporate headquarters to downtown Greenville, South Carolina, where the company was originally founded nearly 100 years ago.
