Deals this week: IC Products, Buttermilk Confections Partners, Fage S.A.

Olam International, an agricultural product and food ingredient processor based in Singapore, has priced a benchmark $300m issuance of five-year senior notes due 2021.

The transaction is part of the company’s $5bn Euro Medium Term Note Programme and its long-term funding strategy to diversify borrowing across sources in a profitable manner. The notes will mature on 12 April 2021 and were priced at a final coupon of 4.50%.

Credit Suisse (Singapore), DBS Bank and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation are acting as financial advisers on the transaction.

Eurazeo, a French private equity firm plans to acquire ten European chocolate and candy brands from US-based Mondelez International.

The €250m ($283.88m) acquisition includes Carambar and Terry brands.

Eurazeo will also acquire five plants in France as part of the agreement.

IC Products LLC (Trade name: Get Silly Ice Cream) has formed a strategic partnership with BIG DRUM Engineering, a pioneer in the development and deployment of ice cream filling machines, to expand into international markets.

As part of the transaction, Get Silly Ice Cream will share its proprietary freezing / pelletising ice cream technology with BIG DRUM Engineering and utilise its filling equipment, as well as packaging technology.

Buttermilk Confections, a producer of food items, has entered into a partnership agreement with Southwestern Distillery, a developer of gin and pastis, to create two brand new fudge flavours. Both the two companies are based in the UK.

The two new flavours are limited-edition gin and pastis-flavoured fudge products that can be purchased on Butternilk’s website.

Ridee, the developer of online food and goods delivery platform Jinn, has secured $7.5m in Series A funding from Spanish capital firm Samaipata Ventures.

Venture capital firms Elderstreet Investments and Bull Capital Partners, as well as existing angel investors, are also part of the funding.

The company intends to use the investment to expand its operations in other cities of UK.
