Deals this week: Foodsby, Ingredion, Amira Nature Foods


Online food ordering application for business professionals Foodsby has raised $5.9m from a series A funding round.

The funding round was subscribed to by Greycroft Partners, Corazon Capital and Rally Ventures.

The proceeds are to be used to expand the company’s operations and enter new markets.

All companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.

Ingredients solutions developer Ingredion has acquired Sun Flour Industry’s rice starch and rice flour business for an undisclosed consideration.

Sun Flour Industry is based in Banglen, Thailand, whereas Ingredion is a US business.

Speciality rice company Amira Nature Foods has purchased six of Euro Basmati’s German specialty rice brands namely Al Amir, Al Hakim, Bano, Dalia, Hanna and Shah Pari.

Amira has been present in the German market since December 2013 through the acquisition of Amira Basmati Rice Gmbh Eur.
