Conagra’s Slim Jim brand introduces new smoked sticks in US
North American food company Conagra Brands’ Slim Jim brand has launched premium smoked sticks in the US market.
The company claims that its products have been produced using 100% grass-fed beef and premium pork raised without hormones, while they contain no artificial colours or monosodium glutamate (MSG).
Slim Jim senior brand manager Adam Beane said: "For many Slim Jim fans, as they leave their teenage years, taste preferences change.
"We're addressing this opportunity by introducing new Slim Jim Premium Smoked Sticks - a premium meat snack with the advantages of both sticks and jerky.
“Premium Smoked Sticks deliver high-quality ingredients, sophisticated flavours, and a less greasy experience, all with the easy-to-eat convenience of a stick."
Slim Jim Premium Smoked Sticks will be available in three flavours, Smokehouse Original, Thai Style Chili, and Memphis Style BBQ.
The products are slow-cooked for more than 14 hours and seasoned with herbs, spices and peppers.
The new products will be rolled out across convenience stores and mass retailers nationwide in 1.2oz and 4.1oz resealable packs priced at $1.79 and $4.99, respectively.
Premium Smoked Sticks have been created by the company following the recent acquisition of the protein-based snacking business Thanasi Foods, which is the producer of Duke's Premium Smoked Meats and BIGS seeds.
Headquartered in Chicago, US, Conagra Brands product portfolio also includes Marie Callender's, Reddi-wip, Hunt's, Healthy Choice, Slim Jim, and Orville Redenbacher's.
